Teddy Bear Clinic this weekend at the Museum

Saturday, September 27 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Does your child's teddy bear or favorite snugly toy need a check-up? The Pacific Northwest Child Life Association (PNCLA) will be hosting a Teddy Bear Clinic at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma on September 27, 2014 from 10am to 2pm.

In the clinic children will be able to become a compassionate doctor to their beloved lovie, explore child-friendly medical supplies, and play alongside PNCLA child life specialists. These playful interactions provide familiarization and education to make your child’s next doctor visit more comfortable and less frightening.

What is a Child Life Specialist?

Child life specialists are child development experts who work to ensure that life remains as normal as possible for children in health care environments. They promote effective coping and support through: play, self-expression activities, age-appropriate medical preparation & education. As advocates of family-centered care, child life specialists work in partnership with doctors, nurses, social workers and others to meet the emotional, developmental, and cultural needs of each child and family.

This event is FREE and no registration is required.
